Medisoft Clinical v16 Begins Beta Testing
McKesson, the world’s largest healthcare services, automation and information technology company, is soon to announce the general release of Medisoft Software version 16.
Medisoft Clinical v16 is a combined Medical Billing, Scheduling, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) software suite. In preparation for its coming nationwide release McKesson sought feedback from their leading local Value Added Reseller (VAR) AZCOMP Technologies, Inc. and a few of their premier customers, Scottsdale Medical Center the office of Dr. Joseph Rotella, MD, DC, and Yuma Foot and Ankle Surgeons the office of Dr. Alan Kravitz, PDM, PC.
Installation of the beta version kicked off on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. The installation was a combined effort between McKesson and AZCOMP Technologies, Inc. As a local face for McKesson, AZCOMP has worked side by side with Scottsdale Medical Center since Dr. Rotella opened his office in October 2008. AZCOMP specializes in providing not only local installation, training and software support, but also in providing hardware and networking sales, service and support. When asked why Dr. Rotella chose AZCOMP he commented, “When choosing an EHR, finding a local company that stands behind their product was most important to me. AZCOMP proved successful. They were there every step of the way.”
AZCOMP continued their ongoing support by sending a trainer, support manager, and network technician onsite to work with McKesson’s team on the beta installation. McKesson sent a team of three key employees including the Product Manager over Medisoft, from their Alpharetta, Georgia office to personally go onsite to Scottsdale Medical Center to monitor and test the installation, as well as gather critical feedback from Dr. Rotella. Although Medisoft Clinical v16 has already passed rigorous tests in its alpha stage, beta gives McKesson a chance to prove the software in a live environment. Any issues are reported and immediately handled by development at McKesson ensuring the software is ready for its nationwide release. Not only do beta sites have the opportunity of giving feedback and improving the product, they also get to take advantage of new features before they are released to the general public. One of the features Dr. Rotella is looking forward to most is the hundreds of new EHR templates that will be available to him in the newest release.
After a day at Scottsdale Medical Center, the team headed down to Yuma to complete a second successful installation at Dr. Kravitz’s office. Yuma Foot and Ankle, a long time user of Medisoft, implemented EHR in their office in January of 2009. Finding an EHR solution that integrated with their billing was critical for their office, which made Medisoft Clinical the clear choice. They are also looking forward to taking advantage of both the new integration features and Revenue Management that version 16 has to offer.
Loree Olsen from AZCOMP Technologies, Inc. commented, “We have been supporting Medisoft for over 10 years and it has been impressive to see how McKesson has improved the development and release of new products. They are refocused on issuing a solid release every time. The fact that they would send their product manager and his team to work with, and hear directly from our clients shows they are about more than simply selling software. And I can’t think of two better sites to represent Medisoft users. Dr. Rotella has experience using another EHR program and is forward thinking in his approach to running a medical practice. Dr. Kravitz has been able to pick up and run with the EHR, and his wife Jackie is an invaluable resource for us to draw on for making billing improvements. We’re excited to work with our clients and McKesson these next few months as we prepare for the nationwide release of Medisoft Clinical v16.”
